Architectural, Communication and Digital Accessibility
General Description
The University’s 18 buildings (including 4 dormitories) are largely adapted for wheelchair users. Adaptations for people with severe visual or hearing impairments have so far been limited due to the absence or rare presence of such students or staff. A four-year project (2025–2029) titled “Open to Everyone, Accessible to All – Lublin University of Technology Without Barriers” will expand accessibility for these groups.
- Parking spaces for people with reduced mobility are designated and clearly marked.
- Entrances vary: mostly large glazed doors with handles; some buildings have automatic sliding doors.
- In one case (Cen-Tech building), assistance from staff is required due to heavy doors.
- Elevators or ramps are available in most buildings, with exceptions noted.
- Toilets adapted for wheelchair users are available on each floor after renovations.
- Stair edges are marked in contrasting colors.
- Visual information boards and directional arrows are present, with some buildings requiring further improvements.
