Mr. Mateusz Walo, a third-year student of Data Engineering and Analytics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Technical Computer Science, has been awarded the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding achievements for the 2025/2026 academic year. He is the only student from our University to receive this prestigious scholarship this year.

Mr. Mateusz Walo develops his interests in the field of machine learning. He is the author of two scientific publications concerning, among others, the application of deep neural networks in environmental analysis and automated image analysis in biological research. He has also received a research grant focused on the applications of language models in medicine.

He is actively involved in the academic community as Vice President of the ATLAS Machine Learning Student Research Group, while professionally he is developing his career at Asseco Business Solutions, where he leads an R&D team. He is also the initiator of the open-source project BNNR (Bulletproof Neural Network Recipe).

The scholarship is a confirmation of his outstanding scientific and organizational achievements, as well as his commitment to the development of modern technologies.
